Questions
Bridal Shop FAQs North Lincolnshire
We aim to make choosing your dream dress an experience that you will remember and treasure forever. Here is everything you need to know, but if you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Why Bride Outlet?
We have possibly the largest collection of wedding dresses in the Lincolnshire/East Yorkshire area. We are proud of our amazing, five star reviews, and non-pressurised environment. We stock all the top designers and latest styles, where no dress is more than £495.
All the amazing dresses are sold off-the-peg, meaning you can take home your dream dress on the same day.
Please note that wedding dresses typically size at least one size smaller than the size shown on the label. In reality, if you usually wear between a size 8-22 we have a huge selection of dresses available for you to find the perfect one!
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, you do need an appointment as we only open when someone is booked in. We offer appointments every day except Saturday.
Appointments work best when you are ready to buy because stock changes regularly, and if you fall in love with a dress there is no guarantee it will still be there when you return.
We do not recommend visiting if you are just looking for ideas. Even the same style of dress can fit totally differently between the different designers.
If your weight fluctuates, or you are losing weight and have not yet reached your target, we recommend you wait before choosing your dress. Even if you only go down one dress the style may no longer suit you. Furthermore, the greater number of alterations to the size of a dress, the more it becomes uneconomic to do so.
How long does an appointment last?
We allow up to two hours for your private, exclusive use of the studio. We do not carry out multiple appointments, so your party will not have to share the building with anyone else.
What happens at my appointment?
You will have your own, experienced, bridal consultant with you throughout your appointment. There is no limit on the number of dresses you can try on in the two hour appointment! This gives plenty of time to find your dream dress.
Your experienced bridal consultant will be in the changing room with you helping you in and out of the dresses to put you at ease, and helping with any questions you may have. They can also advise with accessories such as veils, bridal belts and tiaras etc.
We suggest you wear nude underwear that is not lacy. We do not allow shoes to be worn when trying on the dresses as there is a risk they can damage the delicate fabrics. If you style your hair as you may have it for your ceremony you will be able to see how the dresses work with your theme.
We also ask you not to bring any drinks into the studio other than plain water as spillages can damage the dresses. Should you wish to celebrate finding ‘the one’, your bridal consultant can recommend suitable places to visit after your appointment has concluded.
How many guests can I bring?
We have seating for up to four guests. However, in our experience, bringing large numbers of guests with you does not really work well. There can be too many differing opinions, and it can become distracting. You are best to bring one or two close friends and family members so you can be relaxed and enjoy the experience of finding your dream dress.
Also, the dresses are spread across two floors and the stairs are unguarded, so please note this if you are considering bringing children with you. If you, or anyone in your bridal party has any mobility issues, the dresses may need to be brought down to the ground floor, so please let us know before the appointment.
The studio environment is not really suited to bringing young children or babies with you. If they do attend, we would ask that they are supervised by another adult at all times, and not to approach the dresses or any of the fixtures and fittings due to safety risks.
Do you offer an alterations service?
If you buy your dress from us we have seamstresses in locations across the counties of North and North East Lincolnshire, Hull and South Yorkshire. All seamstresses are highly skilled, and are fully able to advise and make any alterations you may require.
Whilst we have endeavoured to provide a list of reputable businesses, Bride Outlet takes no responsibility for any services these businesses may offer you. The contract is entirely between you and the seamstress. Please ask for references, or to see other work, to satisfy yourself that you are happy to instruct them to work on your wedding dress. We also recommend you agree the fee involved in writing, before commencing with any work.
What about payment?
If you wish to take the dress home the same day, payment can be made by bank transfer or cash. We do not accept credit card payments or cheques.
A 25% deposit also secures your dress, and the balance can be paid when you are ready to take your dress.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
Like most bridal retailers, due to the delicate nature of the fabrics we do not offer refunds or exchanges once a dress has left the studio.
If you are unsure whether to buy, we recommend taking some time to think it through before making your decision.
